Opis szkolenia: This course equips internal auditors with the knowledge and tools to apply Agile principles across the audit lifecycle - from planning to execution and reporting. Participants will learn how Agile auditing differs from traditional approaches and how to build flexible, value-driven audit plans that adapt to changing risks and priorities.Through practical exercises and real-world case studies, attendees will simulate audit sprints, draft Agile audit backlogs, and develop concise, iterative reports. By the end of the course, participants will be ready to implement Agile practices that improve audit efficiency, stakeholder collaboration, and overall audit impact.

Case Study: “From Waterfall to Agile in a Government Audit Office” – Explore how a public-sector audit team handled cultural resistance, limited tools, and slow approval cycles.

Exercise: “Managing Resistance” – Role-play exercise: One participant is a skeptical auditor or audit committee member, another tries to explain the value of Agile.

 

Module 4: Measurement & Follow-Up

Case Study: “Charting Rough Waters – A Sprint Audit on Vendor Risk Management– Analyze a completed Agile sprint, what went well, what didn't, and how the audit team used retrospectives to adapt.

Exercise: “Agile Metrics Brainstorm” – What should we measure in Agile auditing? Participants define meaningful KPIs and debate trade-offs between speed, quality, and coverage

 

Module 5: Implementation Challenges

Activities:

Case Study: “A Failed Agile Rollout: Lessons from an Overambitious Launch” – A financial services audit team attempted a full Agile transformation without proper training or stakeholder support. Discuss what went wrong and how it could have been managed.

Discussion Exercise: “Agile or Not?” – Review different audit scenarios (e.g., SOX testing, compliance audits, fraud investigations). Should each follow Agile or traditional methods?

Wykładowca: Isabella Arndorfer (CIA, CCSA, CFSA, mediator) is an experienced Internal Audit and Governance specialist with more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector. She was working as Internal Audit Manager in the Internal Audit Department of the Bank for International Settlements (CH) and at the International Monetary Fund (US) from 2003 to 2023. She has led and conducted audits in the Banking Department, General Secretariat and Monetary and Economic Department, specialising in internal controls and corporate governance issues of financial institutions.

She has been a lecturer on internal audit and governance issues at central bank seminars in Asia and Europe as well as at the University of St Gallen (Switzerland). She holds a degree in Business Administration of the University of Economics in Vienna (Austria) and a Masters Degree of International Management from ESADE, Barcelona, Spain. She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA) and holds a CCSA (Certificate of Control Self Assessment) from the Institute of Internal Audit (IIA), Florida, USA. In 2023, she founded the training platform www.cpetrainer.com and has been providing freelance consultancy services in audit, risk management, compliance, and governance.
